Jin Shin TARA Cranial Training : The Social Engagement System.

The TARA Approach to cranial treatment evolved out of Dr. Mines’ research with Traumatic Brain Injury and Neurodiversity. It is a fusion of Cranial-Sacral Therapy and the work of Stephen Porges and Stanley Rosenberg, along with other influences, to release the twelve cranial nerves. This flows out of an understanding of the Social Engagement System that includes the Polyvagal System.

In this course students learn:

1. Exercises to prepare themselves to be able to use the palpation skills required for cranial treatment;

2. Ways to assess each individual’s readiness and availability for cranial reorganization;

3. Assessment skills to read the health of the Social Engagement System;

4. An overview of the relationship between early trauma/shock (including birth trauma) and the Social Engagement System;

5. Tools to evaluate cranial structures;

6. Palpation skills to read cranial rhythms;

7. Interventions to release cranial nerve impingement;

8. How to implement safe cranial treatment without fear of any contraindications; and

9. How and when to integrate cranial treatment into other modalities, especially other aspects of the TARA Approach.

This course is considered an Advanced TARA course and counts as a credit for Advanced Certification.
